Description Preview

Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities exist in the config.c file in config.cgi in Icinga before version 1.4.1. When the escape_html_tags feature is disabled, remote attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities to inject arbitrary web script or HTML into the application. This can be achieved by using a JavaScript expression, such as the onload attribute of a BODY element following a check-host-alive! sequence. These vulnerabilities are distinct from CVE-2011-2179.

Overview

This CVE describes multiple XSS vulnerabilities in Icinga before version 1.4.1 that can be exploited by remote attackers to inject malicious web script or HTML code.

Remediation

To remediate these vulnerabilities, users are advised to upgrade to Icinga version 1.4.1 or later, where the XSS vulnerabilities have been addressed. Additionally, it is recommended to enable the escape_html_tags feature to prevent such attacks in the future.
