Description Preview

The vulnerability allows attackers to manipulate a McAfee Agent to communicate with another, possibly rogue, ePO server via McAfee Agent migration to another ePO server. This exposes the system to potential unauthorized access and data breaches. The vulnerability was made public on 29th January 2015 and the data was last updated on 6th August 2024.

Overview

The vulnerability is found in the Intel product, McAfee Agent (MA) version 4.8.0 patch 2 and earlier. The issue lies in the communication between the McAfee Agent and the ePO server, where an attacker can exploit the vulnerability to make the McAfee Agent communicate with a rogue ePO server. This vulnerability is of type Man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack.
