Description Preview
The vulnerability in the Linux kernel before version 4.17 allows an attacker to exploit the mmap() function to map a FUSE-backed file onto a process's memory that contains command line arguments or environment strings. This can lead to a denial of service by causing utilities such as ps or w to block indefinitely or for a controlled time, acting as a synchronization primitive for other attacks.
