Description Preview

A security vulnerability has been identified in the cnoa OA (Office Automation) system versions up to 5.1.1.5. The vulnerability exists in the login functionality located at /index.php?app=main&func=passport&action=login. The system uses hard-coded passwords that can be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access to the intelligent cooperative office system. This vulnerability has been publicly disclosed and exploit information is available. The vendor was contacted about this vulnerability but did not respond to address the issue.

Overview

The vulnerability in cnoa OA affects the authentication mechanism by using hard-coded credentials that cannot be changed by system administrators. This creates a significant security risk as attackers can easily gain unauthorized access to the system with administrative privileges. The vulnerability affects all versions up to 5.1.1.5 of the cnoa OA intelligent cooperative office system developed by Guangzhou Xiezhong Software Technology Co., LTD. Once exploited, attackers can access sensitive information, modify system configurations, and potentially gain further access to connected systems.

Remediation

To address this vulnerability, system administrators should:

  1. Update to the latest version of cnoa OA if a patched version is available
  2. If updates are not available, implement additional authentication layers such as IP restrictions
  3. Monitor system logs for unauthorized access attempts
  4. Consider implementing network segmentation to limit access to the vulnerable system
  5. Contact the vendor for a security patch or additional mitigation strategies
  6. If possible, change default passwords or implement custom authentication mechanisms
  7. Consider deploying a web application firewall to filter malicious login attempts
