Overview
Shoppingfeed PrestaShop is an add-on module for the PrestaShop e-commerce platform that enables merchants to synchronize their product data with various shopping channels. The vulnerability exists in versions 1.4.0 through 1.8.2 of the module, where certain user inputs are not properly sanitized before being used in SQL queries. This lack of input validation creates a SQL injection vulnerability that could allow malicious actors to manipulate database queries, potentially accessing sensitive information, modifying data, or compromising the entire database. The vulnerability could impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the store's data.
Remediation
Users of the affected Shoppingfeed PrestaShop module should immediately upgrade to version 1.8.3 or later, which contains the fix for this vulnerability. The update can be obtained through the official PrestaShop module repository or directly from the Shoppingfeed GitHub repository. There are no known workarounds for this issue, so upgrading is the only recommended solution. After upgrading, merchants should also review their database logs for any suspicious activities that might indicate previous exploitation attempts.
