Description Preview

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability was discovered in icingaweb2-module-jira versions 1.3.0 to 1.3.1. The vulnerability exists in the template and field configuration forms where deletion actions are performed before validating user input, including the CSRF token. This allows attackers to trick authenticated users into performing deletion operations without their knowledge or consent.

Overview

The icingaweb2-module-jira provides integration between Icinga Web 2 and Atlassian Jira. In affected versions (1.3.0 to 1.3.1), the module contains a CSRF vulnerability in its template and field configuration forms. The vulnerability occurs because deletion actions are executed before proper validation of user input and CSRF tokens. An attacker could exploit this by crafting a malicious webpage that, when visited by an authenticated administrator, would trigger unauthorized deletion of template and field configurations. This could lead to service disruption and potentially require manual reconfiguration of the integration between Icinga Web 2 and Jira.

Remediation

Users should update to icingaweb2-module-jira version 1.3.2 or later, which fixes the CSRF vulnerability by ensuring proper validation before performing deletion actions. The patch ensures that CSRF tokens are properly validated before any destructive operations are performed.

If immediate updating is not possible, administrators should be cautious when browsing the web while logged into the Icinga Web 2 interface. There are no other known workarounds for this vulnerability besides upgrading to the fixed version.
