Description Preview
Applications that utilize UriComponentsBuilder to parse URLs provided externally, such as through query parameters, and subsequently conduct validation checks on the host of the parsed URL may be susceptible to open redirect attacks or server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks if the URL is utilized after passing the validation checks. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH with a CVSS base score of 8.1.
Overview
The vulnerability (CVE-2024-22262) affects versions of the Spring Framework prior to 6.1.6, 6.0.19, and 5.3.34. It allows attackers to potentially redirect users to malicious sites or perform SSRF attacks by exploiting the URL parsing and validation process in affected applications.
Remediation
To mitigate the CVE-2024-22262 vulnerability, it is recommended to update the Spring Framework to versions 6.1.6, 6.0.19, or 5.3.34 or later, where the issue has been addressed.
