The vulnerability in DOMPurify allows malicious HTML utilizing special nesting techniques to bypass the depth checking mechanism implemented in recent releases. Additionally, attackers can exploit Prototype Pollution to weaken the depth check, thereby enabling cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This issue affects versions prior to 2.5.4 and versions between 3.0.0 and 3.1.3 of DOMPurify. Upgrading to versions 2.5.4 or 3.1.3 is recommended to mitigate the vulnerability.
