Description Preview
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System, and Network Security Monitoring engine. The vulnerability in versions prior to 7.0.8 allows an attacker to trigger a buffer overflow by providing a large BPF filter file during Suricata startup. This could potentially lead to a denial of service or arbitrary code execution on the affected system.
