The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'url' attribute of the HubSpot Meeting Widget. This allows authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability has been assigned the CVE ID CVE-2024-5879 and has a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.4, indicating a medium severity level.

The vulnerability was discovered in the HubSpot – CRM, Email Marketing, Live Chat, Forms & Analytics plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the 'url' attribute of the HubSpot Meeting Widget, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).
